Beginner to maestro
Violin
The highest voice in the section, tuned in perfect fifths. The string is short and the pitch spacing tight, so the track spends real time on bow contact and a stable left hand before it adds notes.

Beginner to maestro
Viola
Alto clef from the first lesson, because the clef rather than the instrument is what usually slows a violist down. The inner voice, and more responsibility for the chord than beginners expect.

Cello
Bow arm, left-hand frame, shifting and thumb position, each one sequenced so it is genuinely ready before the next arrives. Easier to hold than a violin, wider to reach across.

Double bass
Its own fingering system, its own positions and its own repertoire, taught as its own instrument rather than as a large cello. Written an octave above where it sounds.

Music theory
Written for string players instead of pianists. Every concept appears on the staff, the keyboard and your fingerboard at once, all three responding to each other.

The complete five-lesson foundation module in each instrument is free to work through, and so are five music theory lessons. Your progress is saved, and there is no time limit on any of them.

Questions about the curriculum
- What can I see before signing up?
- The complete table of contents for all five curricula, every module, every lesson title, the order they are taught in, and how long each takes. Selected worked exercises are also public; full lessons require the relevant learner package.
- Do I have to choose one instrument?
- You can add multiple instrument packages to your account and assign them to learners. Each instrument is $15 per month; shared theory and practice tools are included. Exam packages are selected and priced separately.
- How are the curricula sequenced?
- Each track is built from modules, and each module lists its prerequisites. You can see the whole path from the first module to the last, so nothing arrives before the technique it depends on.
