Trinity Face-to-Face Strings Preparation: Supporting-Test Plan
For a live Trinity strings exam, plan prepared pieces, technical work and the supporting tests permitted at your grade. The choices are not identical at every level. Start by recording what you actually selected, rather than treating every possible supporting test as compulsory.
Arco preparation range: Initial–Grade 8. The package range is Arco’s current coverage, not the board’s complete qualification range.
Before you build a plan.
- Find your instrument and grade in the current Trinity Strings syllabus.
- Write down your permitted supporting-test choices and discuss them with your teacher.
- Keep the chosen technical-work option and any required bowing exercise clearly identified.
- Rehearse arriving, tuning, listening to an instruction and beginning once.

Read before you play
- Choose four unfamiliar bars at an easy level from music you may lawfully use.
- Before playing, name the clef, key signature, metre and longest rest. Tap the opening rhythm without the instrument.
- Choose a pulse you can keep through the hardest bar, then play once without restarting.
Check your work
Your scan should produce concrete decisions: note names from the clef and key, a counted rest, and a manageable starting tempo. This drill has no official preparation-time limit; use Trinity’s actual conditions only when practising a verified test.
Arco wrote this supporting exercise. It is not a specimen board question, published syllabus requirement or official scoring rubric.
A common mistake
Preparing a supporting-test choice from a different grade wastes practice time. Recheck the exact grade row, not only a general exam summary.
Choose the actual pathway, level and instrument.

What is included, and what is not
Arco is independent of the exam boards and institutions. Packages provide preparation planning, requirements links and weekly task tracking, not exam entry, teacher assessment, official papers or a guaranteed result. Only published original knowledge-support collections are scored in question sessions; no question bank is promised for other selections. Instrument learning is a separate $15/month package. Each selected package is billed separately; review its terms before purchasing.
Question-session answers can be scored against the published answer key. Arco does not assess your playing or certify practical readiness from these exercises.
Keep the official source beside the plan.
