Trinity Repertoire-only Strings: Four-Piece Preparation Plan
Trinity’s digital repertoire-only strings pathway uses four pieces. Musical contrast, sustained concentration and a convincing complete programme deserve their own practice time. This option is different from Trinity’s digital pathway with technical work; check that your entry and programme match.

Before you build a plan.
- Check every selected work against the current grade and repertoire rules.
- Identify the main character and technical challenge of each work in one sentence.
- Plan complete runs as well as short repair sessions.
- Check current accompaniment, recording and upload requirements directly with Trinity.

Give each work a distinct purpose
- Make a four-row table with columns for opening character, pulse, bow character and ending.
- Write one precise word or short phrase in each cell, avoiding the same description for every work.
- Play only the first and last phrase of each work in programme order and ask whether the contrasts are audible.
Check your work
Useful descriptions lead to audible choices: a sustained ending differs from a light release, and a flowing pulse differs from a spacious one. Labels alone do not demonstrate contrast; check the sound with a teacher or trusted listener.

A common mistake
Repertoire-only does not mean technique is unimportant. Isolate the shifts, string crossings and bow changes that the actual programme needs.

What is included, and what is not
Arco is independent of the exam boards and institutions. Packages provide preparation planning, requirements links and weekly task tracking, not exam entry, teacher assessment, official papers or a guaranteed result. Only published original knowledge-support collections are scored in question sessions; no question bank is promised for other selections. Instrument learning is a separate $15/month package. Each selected package is billed separately; review its terms before purchasing.
Question-session answers can be scored against the published answer key. Arco does not assess your playing or certify practical readiness from these exercises.
