# ABRSM Performance Grade 5: Programme Continuity Exercise

Rehearse a complete Grade 5 Performance programme with an original focus log, current official guidance links and transparent Arco package pricing.

A Grade 5 Performance plan should test concentration across the programme, not only whether each piece sounds acceptable in isolation. Make the first complete rehearsal informative rather than treating it as a final verdict. Use separate recording equipment if you want a video to discuss with your teacher.

## Before you build a plan

- Confirm the current own-choice, programme and accompaniment rules before selecting music.

- Write the running order and practise the gaps between works.

- Read ABRSM’s current candidate identification, video and submission guidance.

- Make a separate recording outside Arco and watch the complete exported file before uploading it to the board.

## Original exercise: Map attention across a run

1. Before a full rehearsal, write one musical intention for each piece: for example, sustain the phrase ending or keep a light accompanying figure.

2. Complete the planned run without stopping to edit an error.

3. Afterward, mark where you remembered each intention and choose only one lapse to repair in the next short session.

### Check your work

The log separates a musical intention from a tally of wrong notes. A forgotten intention identifies a rehearsal target, not an official loss of marks. Review a complete programme with your teacher before considering submission.

## A common mistake

Repeatedly restarting the recording after the first slip prevents you from practising recovery and the later pieces.
